Everything here is possible on the free repack — it's the same server. You'd install a web server, PHP and a database by hand, wire up credentials across several files, configure mail, stitch together a registration script, a shop and an armory from separate projects, and debug PHP versions for an evening. It works. It just takes a weekend.
What the donation buys
That weekend, compressed into under 15 minutes — plus backups, a watchdog, safe updates and a real admin panel you'd otherwise build yourself. If 25 € saves you one evening of wiring databases and web servers together, it's already paid for itself — and it keeps paying every update.

The fair questions
The things people actually ask
Do updates break my customizations?
No. Repack updates merge your config files — every value you tuned stays exactly as set, and only genuinely new settings are added (clearly marked). Game-content database updates apply automatically, checksum-verified. Your characters always carry over.
Are the backups real — can I actually restore?
Yes. The App does one-click backups of both the database and your characters, and a matching restore. It's the boring stuff we spent the most time on, because it's what matters when something goes wrong.
What if WOW Legends shuts down one day?
There are no plans to — but if it ever had to, we've committed to releasing the App and your player portal in a free, self-hostable form. Your repack and world already live on your own machine, and AI runs on your own Ollama or API key. Nothing you build here can be taken away.
Do I actually need it, or is this pay-to-play?
You never need it. The full game — repack, bots, AI, all commands — is free forever, manual setup and your own AI key. The supporter package is the easy path and a thank-you that funds the project, not a gate in front of the game.
Future-proof, promised
We're planning to be here for years — but if WOW Legends ever had to wind down, we'd release the App and your player portal so they keep working without our servers, free and self-hostable. Your repack and your world already live on your own machine, and the AI already runs on your own Ollama or API key. What you support here can't be taken away.
