Release

v1.5.3 is out for supporters

Your Warband Camp is there when you log in. Logging out inside your own camp could mean logging back in to bare ground — the props were never lost, the client just never got told about them (a login-timing race, now fixed). Found by Micha, who checked the database before rebuilding his camp — exactly the evidence that made the root cause findable. Also in: AOELoot.MaxCorpses is a real setting now (it was silently hardcoded; default unchanged at 10).

Upgrading = replace worldserver.exe — no database changes. Live on the supporter lane through the App now. Like every build, it becomes the free community release later — the free edition today is v1.4.2 with full source.

v1.5.2 is out for supporters

AoE loot no longer eats items. Merging corpses could quietly destroy loot when the window hit its 16-item cap or bags were full — found by StretchtGorilla, and fixed properly: nothing is emptied until it's actually been collected. Also in: the transmog Warpweaver shows up on upgraded realms too (reported by Cretnince, after Micha hit the same thing), and bots wait for the Ring of Valor lift instead of walking off it mid-rise (StretchtGorilla again).

Live on the supporter lane through the App now. Like every build, it becomes the free community release later — the free edition today is v1.4.2 with full source.

v1.5.0 "The Community Release" is out — and the free edition jumps to v1.4.2 with full source

v1.5.0 "The Community Release" is out — and the free edition jumps to v1.4.2 with full source

Every entry in v1.5.0 started as a community suggestion or bug report. The headline is Warband Camps (suggested by AeonFlux): claim ground anywhere in the open world, furnish it from 69 props up to whole buildings, share it account-wide — and your alts stroll around it on their own. Alongside it: Transmog at the new Warpweaver NPCs, AoE loot (Nuclear Pasta), instant-swing and no-hearthstone-cooldown toggles (Boethiah), resto shaman bots that actually heal and held bots that keep their spec (StretchtGorilla), bots that leave your quest items alone (DMCraig), weekly arena points (galacticpatrik99), Culling of Stratholme fully scripted, DK bots unlocked in the Dungeon Finder, a bot-chatter toggle, two crash fixes and one closed exploit. Thanks also to the supporter beta crew — 4played_karacho's testing caught an upgrade-path crash before release day.

Supporters have v1.5.0 in the App now. And the free lane moves up: the complete v1.4 line — Legend Roads, the Guide, the Sage, party-wide orders, Dungeon Clear — is now the free Community Edition as v1.4.2, with the complete server source included. From v1.5.0 onward, every release ships its source.

Milestone

We're publishing the server source code

Starting with the next release, every WOW Legends version ships with its complete server source code — the same tree the binaries are built from, attached to each GitHub release as WOW_Legends_Server_Source.zip. The free repack stays exactly what it is: compiled, configured and ready to run. The source zip is for the curious, the tinkerers, and anyone who wants to build it themselves the AzerothCore way — and it's how a project built on AzerothCore's and mod-playerbots' open licenses should behave.

Nothing else changes: the community edition stays free and ready-to-run, supporters keep early access and the one-click App (the App and this website remain our own separate products). First source-included releases: v1.5.0 for supporters and v1.4.2 for the community, arriving alongside it.

Release

v1.4.2 is out for supporters

Bots no longer stack into invisible towers at city banks — thanks to longasleep, who spotted them piling up in Darnassus and Exodar and then benchmarked the fix on two servers within 15 minutes of release. Arrivals now scatter naturally around their destination, each facing their own way. And the Guide escort survives every interruption we could throw at it — no more bots wedged standing still after a “stop”.

One small download in the App, nothing to import, no database changes. The free Community Edition stayed on v1.3.1 until v1.5.0 shipped — v1.4.2 is now the free download, full source included.

Release

v1.4.0 'The Living Party' is out — and Paths of Legends goes free

v1.4.0 'The Living Party' is out — and Paths of Legends goes free

The bots release is live for supporters in the App today. Your bots walk real roads across all four continents, a Guide escorts you anywhere on foot (“take me to Booty Bay” — it never teleports), a Sage answers item and quest questions from your server’s actual data, plain-language orders now work party-wide (“everyone follow me”), and a tank bot can clear a whole classic dungeon on command ($dc on). Add quest narration, bots that pitch in on your objectives, idle campfire life, a healer that saves you at the brink, 192 voice-card personalities and chat that takes turns instead of flooding — the party is alive.

And at the same time, the whole v1.3 line goes free for everyone as Community Edition v1.3.1: Paths of Legends (the five challenge oaths, trophies and Herald honors), talk-and-command, and two backported fixes. Grab it on GitHub — supporters ride one release ahead; every version lands free when the next ships.

Thanks to jrad7 (Dungeon Clear), Boethiah, Ronny and AeonFlux for modules, reports and ideas.

See it, don't take our word: the Guide walks a player across the map in one uncut take · a tank bot clears Ragefire Chasm on command.

v1.3.0 — Paths of Legends

v1.3.0 — Paths of Legends

Swear your playthrough. Five opt-in challenge Paths now wait at the Herald of the Fallen in every starting zone — the Long Road, the Iron Oath, the Pilgrim’s Way, the Slow Burn and One Life. Each oath binds only you, they stack if you dare, and each one you fulfil drops a soulbound, readable trophy in your bags — and has the Herald bow and speak your name to the whole camp.

And your bots now obey plain language — in any language. Whisper a bot you own however you like: “follow me”, “folge mir”, “wait here a sec”, “attack that” — and it just does it, answering in character. Fourteen orders, class-aware refusals (ask a rogue to tank and it says no), and safe by design: only your own bots ever listen.

Bots obeying plain-language whispers in English, German and Spanish in the chat log

Out now for App users and supporters through the in-App updater — and with it, v1.2.0 rolls out free for everyone.

Milestone

10,000 AI bots on one realm — and it barely blinked

10,000 AI bots on one realm — and it barely blinked

We pushed a realm to 10,000 bots online at once — every zone populated, all levels, a real player among them. On a mid-range 6-core AMD Ryzen 5 3600X the worldserver sat at about 32% CPU and ~13.8 GB RAM. You'll never need this many (the repack ships at 100 and you scale to your own hardware) — it's a stress test to show how much headroom the engine really has.

Release

v1.2.0 — The Bots Come Alive

The biggest update yet is about the bots as people. They now remember the players they meet, recognise familiar faces (and hold grudges — kill one in World PvP and it hunts you), and — if you opt in — narrate their own lives and act out little scenes around you. Plus a top-to-bottom bot-chat rewrite and owner tools like live AI telemetry. And there's a small tribute hidden somewhere in Stranglethorn Vale…

Release

v1.1.0 — Living, Dangerous World

All-zones World PvP (opt-in), bots that hunt players across every zone, Faction Battlefront world events, auto-summon into dungeons and smarter bot PvP targeting. The world got a lot more alive — and, if you want it, a lot more dangerous.
